Shark Nero

 

 

Every single time I look at this boy, I thank my lucky stars that I swallowed hard and gave it one more shot!

 

Over my 20+ year breeding career in French Bulldogs, on multiple occasions, I have tried to bring in ‘new bloodlines’ by importing a Frenchie from another country. And, on each of those occasions, I was sorely disappointed in either the quality of the dog, the health of the dog, or the progeny that the dog produced and wound up neutering and placing each of those males in pet homes.

 

BUT THEN there was NERO! Against my better judgment, I decided to give that import thing one last shot, and I don’t know how or why it happened, but FINALLY the gods smiled down upon me, and the most beautiful RED dog imaginable showed up at Bullistik.

 

This boy was stunning from head to toe! Compactly built, tons of bone and substance, incredible topline, tail set, spring of rib, tuck of loin, slamming front end, and then there is that HEAD. Oh lord, where do I begin? That face simply makes me melt. It is truly perfection in every possible way.

 

When I imported Nero, it was all about his conformation, and pedigree, and a little bit about that fabo RED coat of his (bmf has always been one of my favorite colors in any breed), but honestly had nothing to do with the dilute gene as both his parents were black mask red and although the biggest producer of dilute Frenchies living outside of the USA, Belboulecan Du Champagne Mondo, is in Nero’s pedigree, Mondo was far enough back that I didn’t expect Nero would have inherited the ‘d’ allele from him.

 

Well, I was dead wrong!

 

 

Nero’s first attempt at siring a litter was a booming success; he was bred to Denim and BeeGee’s brindle pied sister, Crystal Gale and she whelped 4 pups, 2 of them being blue (1 solid, 1 pied) and I was in utter disbelief to see those two blue pups whelped from two non-dilute parents.

 

As you can see, Nero’s first blue brindle kiddo has grown up to be quite a handsome dog, and not surprising as Nero has produced beautiful offspring in a variety of colors.

 

 

In fact, Nero is the sire of Bullistik’s very first AKC GRAND CHAMPION, our fabulous black mask red boy, Bullistik I Am A Rockstar! Rockstar has many accolades to be proud of besides his grand champion and champion titles and those are:

Rockstar is a very special boy and a fine example of the truly outstanding puppies that Nero has produced for us.

 

 

Although, Nero, has made his mark on his sons, his daughters are phenomenal as well, and we are ecstatic at the overall consistency in breed type, soundness, health, and beauty of all of his pups born here at Bullistik.
